Seashells in your hand
YEAR:
2024.11
EXPERIENCE:
Graphic design, transfer stickers, mockups
inspiration.
"For this project, I designed a series of banknotes based on a seashell theme, envisioning a user base of undersea inhabitants and their banking system. The vertical orientation was inspired by Canada's 2018 vertical banknote series, as I felt this layout perfectly complemented the elongated shapes of seashells.
The currency features three denominations, each corresponding to a specific seashell:
$10 (Nautilus: Orange)
$50 (Auger: Blue)
$100 (Sharp-rib Drill: Purple)

design process.
Each banknote measures 3x6 inches. I used reflective 80g coated paper for printing, and to enhance tactile depth and visual texture, I applied crystal epoxy stickers to key raised information, including the denomination, numerical value, and logo.
These special UV transfer stickers (crystal epoxy stickers) have a strong three-dimensional effect. They are also waterproof and sunproof, ensuring the durability of the currency. Most surprisingly, they exhibit a unique sheen under light.
